Spin The Globe
- Today I took a solo trip to a mall about 30 minutes away. We tried to go together yesterday but for some reason the Didi driver didn't want to take us and then the bus took forever to arrive and it got too late. This time, I took the bus most of the way and then got a Didi for the last chunk. The bus took me through some neighborhoods that were a little more rundown than the ones around us but then, all of the sudden, we were back in a more developed area where the mall is located. After doing my shopping I wandered around the mall's six levels of shopping to see what else was there. I came across a hockey rink, a kiddy trampoline park, and almost any store you might need or want. Even though it was only my second day of subbing full time for the week, I decided to treat myself to pizza and sweet potato fries for surviving those long two days!

- While shopping, I also came across a globe and was reminded of a story of my Grandma Peg. I remember her getting a globe as a gift and saying it was something she had always wanted. When I asked why, she said it was so she could see how big the world was and how many places people could travel. She didn't do much travel herself and spent most her life in southwest Michigan. Seeing this globe reminded me how much of a privilege it is that we are able to see the world and that we should enjoy our adventure and share our stories with those who won't get the chance to do it in person.
